The Internet of Things, what is it?

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the grouping and interconnection of devices that are connected through a network, regardless of whether the network is private or public, and is characterized by the fact that they can all be visible and interact. 

Any device with the ability to connect to the Internet and interact without human intervention is a valid device. 

What's the relationship between the IoT and big data?

The Internet of Things and the big data complement each other in a perfect way since, one of the consequences of the IoT, is the generation of a high amount of datawhich are analyzed with technologies from the big data with the aim of offering a better user experience in terms of the services provided. the IoT is a great source of data for the big data

What are the main dimensions by which data quality is measured?

  • IntegrityThe "Data" field: refers to whether all data values have been accumulated, or for example, whether there are any facts in the series of events that have been reported or even in the sensor values that should be calculated.
  • ConsistencyThe "Value of the device": refers to whether the values recorded are consistent with the context in which the values were produced by the device.
  • AccuracyThe "Network": refers to whether the values that have been stored across the device network show exactly what was produced on each device.
  • OpportunityData Synchronization: refers to whether the data was collected within a reasonable time or whether there is some monitoring that provides assurance that the data set is synchronized.

An example of the application of IO in the business world is in the area of agriculture.
