Which CMS should I use: PrestaShop or WooCommerce?

This will depend on the number of items on your website. If you are going to sell less than 100 products in your store, you can use WooCommerce as your online store solution. However, if your range of items is much wider, we recommend using an advanced ecommerce platform such as PrestaShop.

Who can buy in my online store?

Any user can buy on your website, although you can choose whether you want your visitors to register as users in order to make purchases. Another option is that you allow purchases to be made anonymously, which means that it is not necessary to register as a user in order to make purchases, but they do have to specify their personal details and a delivery address at the time of completing the purchase. There is a third option, and that is that you can allow both options.

In any case, it is a question of deciding if you want to make your users fill in an extensive form with their data, but that will facilitate the procedure in future purchases and will allow them to have a history of orders (among other advantages) or that they have to fill in their data in every purchase.

Which payment method is best for my online store?

Currently there are different payment gateways that you can use on your website. Using recognized payment methods helps to build trust in your potential buyers. At the beginning of your ecommerce project we recommend you use services such as PayPalThe commissions you are charged are based on your actual sales.

But if you already have a considerable amount of shopping activity in your store, perhaps you should consider the virtual POS solutions offered by your bank, such as Redsys.

Do the prices in my online shop have to include VAT or IGIC?

You have both options. You can show the prices of the items including indirect taxes in the product sheet itself, and in this case, it is advisable to add a suffix indicating "Taxes Included".

You can also show the base price of the items on their corresponding tabs without including taxes, it being very advisable to indicate with a suffix that taxes are not included in the price.

Generally, if you sell to end consumers, keep in mind that they do not want "surprises" on the bill, so it is advisable to show them prices including taxes.

However, if your customers are usually other companies, we suggest that you do not show the taxes until you get to the shopping cart, because in sales B2B indirect taxes are deductible.

Can I translate my online store into different languages?

Yes, and it is also very useful not only if you make international sales, but if part of your target audience speaks a different language. Translating your website into different languages allows you to reach a greater number of users.

Can I show the original price and the discounted price on the products on my website?

If you can, and besides, it is the most advisable. By showing the price prior to the application of a discount, the customer perceives the savings, which encourages the purchase and favours decision-making.

Can I sell to other countries with my online store?

Yes, if your product is branded outside of your country, you should consider offering your products to those countries. Please note that this option may require the translation of your online store into other languages.

Is it possible to sell the same product at different prices?

Yes, you often have different customers, and each of them is assigned specific discounts already agreed upon. So in your online store you can assign specific discounts to each customer in general, in specific categories or on specific products. For this reason, depending on each customer or group of customers, the prices that appear in the customer file may vary.

Can I work with any parcel delivery company?

Yes, an increasing number of logistics and packaging companies have modules to integrate their services into different online shop platforms. This helps improve the customer experience, and among other things, adds the functionality of being able to track the shipment from the customer's own file in the store.

If the company you choose does not have a specific module for PrestaShop or Woocomerce, there is the possibility of configuring it in your online store since they usually incorporate a standard module that allows you to adapt to different shipping conditions.

Can I do discounts, promotions and use discount coupons?

Of course. Discounts are incentives that help build customer loyalty. And of course, ecommerce platforms like PrestaShop offer the possibility of applying discount coupons to certain products and specific dates. You can also make promotions based on the number of items added to the cart (buy 3 and pay two, for the purchase of 2 items you have a discount on the second unit ...). Another way of making discounts is by price brackets, in which a certain discount is applied when the purchase exceeds a certain amount.

In general, PrestaShop allows all these discount formulas, and different combinations of them.

Can I optimize the SEO of each of the products?

Yes. Each product sheet has a space for you to optimize the SEO from each of them. It is important that you do not neglect this aspect as it is the visibility and findability of your website and your products, and therefore the number of people who come to your website. The greater the number of users, the greater the possibilities of conversion.

What do I need if I want to sell my products on Amazon, Ebay, Google Merchant and other marketplaces?

Of course, you have to start by creating a merchant account on those platforms, but having an online store with PrestaShop, allows you to easily display your products on Marketplace as Amazon. In addition, you will continue to manage your orders from your own online store.
